Fayat To Acquire Atlas Copco Road Construction Division
French manufacturer Fayat announced it has agreed to buythe Road Construction Equipment Division of Atlas Copco, which manufacturesrollers for asphalt and soil applications, pavers and planers. No financialdetails were provided.
Atlas Copco’s road construction equipment products are soldunder the Dynapac trade name. Fayat said the acquisition would strengthen itsstrategic position in road construction and maintenance equipment markets.Fayat has expertise in the roadbuilding markets through its Bomag, Marini,Marini-Ermont, SAE, Secmair and Breining operations. Fayat Group revenues wereUS$3.7 billion in 2016.
The agreement includes sales and service operations in 37countries and production units in Sweden, Germany, Brazil, India and China. Thebusiness has 1265 employees and revenues of approximately US$328 million in2016. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to becompleted during the second quarter.
